I don't know what's up with older anime and giving away end of next episode spoilers in their next episode previews.

Does it have to do with, you can't wait for the next episode if you hear something exciting or big plot wise in the title or preview that's going to happen and the TV station wants to be able to commit to watching the episode next week? Other than watching as a kid, it would kill all my enjoyment if I knew what happens next. Talking more recent anime ones, the only ones I can recall are Dragon Ball Kai (although it's just DBZ cut in half) and Super have spoiler titles too. Anytime you have to have a brief description of the episode as a title....just, stop. Don't have a title at all.

Best part of the show was that bazooka shot.

I can't take MSG seriously.... It was a little hit and miss, think I kinda enjoyed Ideon a little more. I enjoyed the stuff with Lalah since it got real weird and trippy, and I like Char as a character. I really should watch Zeta soon, as well as the movie trilogy.

I really should watch Zeta soon, as well as the movie trilogy. The Newtype stuff actually ruined the flow even further for me of the show. It was barely hanging since I wasn't invested in any of the characters except hints of Char, but his presence in the show wasn't as frequent as I would have liked. I thought the show would make you question in the beginning which of the two is the main character protagonist vs antagonist and would have, through the series, and leave for the audience to decipher. If they went more into the back history of Char with his sister, that might have made things more interesting.

They did create an UY game, though there was some license issues with the arcade version so it was changed to Momoko 120%, despite keeping the same theme music.

Think Benten is my favorite Urusei Yatsura girl I enjoy all of Lum's alien friends, the episodes that focus on them were some of the best. Fourth OVA had some good Benten moments.

That actually for me is when Benten was separating herself from the rest in terms of enjoyment and then increased further during the OVA series.

Taking a break from Fists of the North Star to watch War in the Pocket. First Gundam show I've seen, I can see why it's recommended for newcomers to the series. One of the best war stories I've ever seen in anime. It's the best Gundam I've watched. I thought given the first 2 OVAs, that it was going to be not as interesting as I would have hoped since it looked like the story is going to be centered around the kid mainly (still was a contender though at the time). The last 4 OVAs, particularly the last 3 really showed great strides in its story telling, the stakes of the characters' decisions , and the impact that occurred with the two male characters on what was supposed to be a war free colony. Animation was nice except for 1 episode that I thought was wonky.

MS 08th Team had potential of beating War in the Pocket, but the characters were never flesh out and the depth of the storytelling was rather shallow.

People praising Rose of Versailles quite a bit, but so far, this is just a typical petty, shitty bitch fight between sheer jealousy vs extreme beliefs, thus creating a drama. Even though this story has (or could have since I'm not going to fucking research whether this bitch fight is even accurate), it does not make it an interesting or good story. But because of royalty, high stakes is involved given the peace treaty offering. The only thing keeping this alive for me is the future implications and events that take place from an eventual collapse.
Seriously thinking this is a "battle" and you're winning or losing based on being acknowledged? This drama is so bad.

That's disappointing to hear. I've heard nothing but praise for it so I've been interested in checking it out for a while now. Still will check it out, maybe with some adjusted expectations though.

[br Same here in terms of hearing praises. I have been disappointed overall as I expected something historical to at least be interesting. First couple of episodes aren't like this. It actually was good. Then around 3 to 4 episodes it becomes focused on the princess and the king's mistress. Episode 8 is when it leans back toward the main character but it still focuses on the princess wanting to do dumb shit that causes another dramatic scene. At least the mistress wasn't involved so it wasn't bad. That's as far as i went though. Just be aware that when you watch, there's going to be lots of sparkling. If that doesn't bother you, then the experience wouldn't be as bad. It's starting to tick me off though as it's often excessive. I do expect the story to improve once the kingdom collapses or at least on the verge but I am bracing for more disappointment as the character being introduced already feels entitled and will force her way. The direction based on the story is professionally done. Just the bare bones of the story so far is subpar

This story keeps being centered around Antoinette's stupidity and being goaded constantly. How can anyone find this entertaining is beyond me? This is like scummy trash as it feeds into a melodrama mentality when there is no one to A) monitor her closely despite knowing her stupid actions, B) restricting her knowing how stupid her decisions are, C) lack of followers to prevent similar situations from arising

A little more into the second half of the show, it focuses less on Marie Antoinette and it definitely is significantly more tolerable. The story also is more interesting as romance now becomes more of a subplot.

I've never heard of Ayane's High Kick, what led to you checking that out? several things: female mc sports are rare especially combat sports. so this was rather unique approach. i enjoyed boxing from ashita no Joe and Hajime no ippo so kickboxing seems rather intriguing. i do like different fighting styles too like what i seen in kengan ashura and grappler baki (unfortunately the production and execution were lacking for both franchises except baki ova from 1994) it was only two episodes (show would obviously have been better if it actually went through its planned production) so as a completionist this is great that I can go through it if I dislike

hunter x hunter i found to be done better in the hunter exam arc as it was more fleshed out with darker atmosphere. plus the best arc Yorknew was more in detail. although i like 2011 designs better, op/ed, and voice acting.

osomatsu-kun was not as enjoyable as osomatsu-san. all the osmatsus pretty much act the same, look the same, and very indistinguishable voices. episodes revolved mostly around iyami who i found annoying and the bald kid who i found meh despite series named after someone else. any mention of the brother is osomatsu and the rest of the brothers hardly get a mention.

barefoot gen 1 is probably my favorite atomic bomb anime film. better than grave of fireflies and in the corner of this world. really focused on the historical context of the bombing. gen 2 wasn't necessary and was rather disappointing film although had a little bit of its good moments

porco rosso was meh. i do like the energetic mechanic but her love was pretty much implied from the very beginning. if you love retro airplanes and blimp like Miyazaki, then it's probably enjoyable to watch

i see the potential in gunnm particularly the action choreography and the idea of them living in the garbage dump vs the higher class of society (reminds me of ergo proxy but the reverse) and having to get there but should have had more episodes. her desire to fulfill her romantic interest's wishes regardless though is rather annoying

I was not expecting that turn of events with Rikiishi. Joe's life really is tragic.
I'm seeing stuff now recommending just skipping the episodes after 53 and just jumping into S2. Not sure how I'm gonna go yet, think I might still watch the rest though.
