I was not expecting that turn of events with Rikiishi. Joe's life really is tragic.
I'm seeing stuff now recommending just skipping the episodes after 53 and just jumping into S2. Not sure how I'm gonna go yet, think I might still watch the rest though. It really is. I compare that situation to NBA as if Larry or Magic were to die at their peak (post commercial they did together). Depends on how much time you're willing to invest. For something like Ashita no Joe, it still was a good run overall to go through the episodes for the first season, although definitely not as enjoyable as the episodes before Rikishi's fall. Also if you're the type to appreciate the improvements done, then you should watch the rest of S1 so you can see the significant things done on S2 to make it such a masterpiece. Actually made me appreciate S2 more.

I get the feeling this is gonna end up pretty high on my all time list by the time I'm finished it, so I feel I should really watch it in it's entirety. I'm just glad I never got spoiled on the Rikiishi stuff, think I've already been spoiled on the ending.

think I've already been spoiled on the ending. I managed to avoid the spoilers to that ending. It's a common reference from other shows, but I never thought too much on it and correlated to its source.

Romeo no Aoi Sora is a really nice, simple, and expected story with great execution despite couple of typical cliches, cornyness and a couple of glaring issues. Definitely much more satisfied than what I expected trying to look at the cover picture.
Had several occasions where I almost felt a tear would be shed.

Why does YKK not get a full adaptation? Didn't it start the SOL healing anime boom? Plus, I mean, you got two robo girls kissing each other to share information. That should give it enough reason.

Beats me, I would love a full adaptation. OVA was still a nice accompaniment to the manga, but I could have used more. Great soundtrack, matched to tone of the manga perfectly I felt. I might be due for another reread, been a while.

I do like the Dirty Pair duo. Kinda has James Bond type + enemy Star Wars troopers + pinch of Looney-tunes touch. I like the back and forths jabs by them. The episodic missions has some hits and misses.

I like the color palette of Nadia series. First three episodes didn't really interest me, but the fourth is such a drastic tone change and packed with so much moments of intensity that it's like a completely different show.
Also Team Rocket-esque but less funny, so I hope they're not going to be like this in every episode. Last one was fine since they couldn't do anything. I rather not have a monotonous series.

Glad I downloaded the BD release for Joe S2. The first time seeing Joe in that level of detail put a smile on my face.

City Hunter has the best (over the top) car chase scene ever.
Got nostalgia vibes from Golden Boy's bicycle scene
