i rate it 10/10 scifi setting, flows like a thriller and raises questions like existentialist literature get to know the most mysterious alien in history i'm no scifi guy at all and i wonder how i'll feel about it in a year or so, maybe i'm just caught up in the hype right now but it's absolutely amazing too bad my Polish is not good enough for this the German translation feels slightly off at times and apparently he's pretty hard to translate

Reading Shakespeare for school. Hating every second of it. Which one? For what class? So far we've done Much Ado, Measure for Measure, Midsummer Night's, Comedy of Errors, and Merry Wives. Still have to do The Tempest and Cymbaline. It's a course on Shakespearean comedies, I expected to not hate Shakespeare but it started getting boring for me after like the second play we read.

Very depressing.... Lem wasn't amused there's also a new Solaris with George Clooney. Lem about it: ...to my best knowledge, the book was not dedicated to erotic problems of people in outer space... As Solaris' author I shall allow myself to repeat that I only wanted to create a vision of a human encounter with something that certainly exists, in a mighty manner perhaps, but cannot be reduced to human concepts, ideas or images. This is why the book was entitled "Solaris" and not "Love in Outer Space".cold

Heard Red Dragon is just as good (some think is better). Noice. I'm pumped, dude. Read glowing reviews for both books that made me want to read them. Haven't watched any of the films yet nor know very much about Hannibal the character. I don't read often but it should be fun.

I saw the clooney one when I was a kid, but dont remember it.

It's great that you haven't watched the films or know much about the story/villains. Will really shock you the kind of stuff it delves into. But if you kind of want to get a visual idea of what Hannibal is like, you can watch about a minute of this scene (and only this scene):

Much Ado and Midsummer Night's are probably #1 and #2 for me on the semester. Cymbeline is actually pretty good/interesting, did that today. Merry Wives was bad, Measure for Measure wasn't my thing, and Comedy of Errors confused me (not used to reading Shakespeare or to English's obsession with close readings).

One day I'm gonna buy a leather bound version of those two. I think Comedy of Errors is something that you have to taught by the right professor. When I took popular literature the professor was shit so I didn't get it and thought it was really shitty. When I took it for my English Lit class it worked a lot better, or maybe it was the other way around for class titles. Point stands either way though.

I've been using a beautiful anthology copy for everything so far, even when I'm getting bored I can still appreciate the occasional illustrations. I might try to read Comedy of Errors out of class at some point as having to read something usually doesn't help my perception of it.

I finished reading The Martian couple weeks ago. Currently, I'm reading 'Adventures of Tom Sawyer' by Mark Twain. Last few days, I have gone off track. I read short-stories of x-rated, which I sometimes do when I'm super-bored (Thanks a lot, Mark Twain). There were a couple I truly enjoyed, but I dunno if I can link them here. Endless Summer part 1, part 2, Childhood friends, and My beautiful Brianna.. just so hot.. IF I BROKE A RULE, LET ME KNOW AND I WILL EDIT OUT THE LINKS

that ending so fucking good Suguru101 you gon love this one I already started it Thoughts? And don't worry about spoiling, the show covered that storyline. oh really? i guess that's the ending to season 3? i took it slow at first, maybe because im not much of a reader, but those first 100 pages or so were taken slowly. not because they were bad or anything, just because i was kind of busy with other stuff and didnt feel like reading much. since last night though, i really began to get into it, and i just flew through the remaining 300 pages. the writing is so nice, pacing is perfect, characters are interesting and layered (emotional, likeable protagonist in will graham and somewhat tragic villain in francis dolarhyde) and the twist ending really got me. loved it, gonna watch manhunter (the film adaptation) tomorrow and then get reading silence of the lambs. just dont expect much hannibal. in the 420 pages, he only appears in, i'd say, maybe ten of them. i was definitely surprised he had that small of a role, but overall, i think it added a very mysterious aura. i like it. even if you know how it plays out, you're going to love it. it's such an easy read.
