Bismack Biyombo has opted out of the current $3 mil contract for the obvious reason.
He is expected to get as many as $17 mil a year for the next one.

Somewhat related news: Remember that guy who heckled a referee and was ejected in one of those Raps vs Cavs playoff games in the ACC? He got shot and killed, gangland style, on Yonge-Eglinton intersection in the middle of the day. The guy though is said to be a gangster in Vancouver dealing drugs, according to Vancouver Sun.

Link won't be embedded on mobile. Anyways, DeMar opted out of his contract. Will be a FA.

Cory and Pat going to the Cavs would give the Cavs the next 2 titles and they are likely winning Sunday with the way LeBron is playing, so yeah a 3 peat ?

Raps also got another Saikam. The older one played for 905 last season.

Demar is now in talk with Raptors only, intending to stay with Raptors first and may decide to go elsewhere if the talk breaks down later.
Hopefully, they will have enough money to sign a midrange quality 4, which I hope that to be Paul Milsap.

He's the best player that fits their needs but also commands well over 20+million. Resign DeMar and Bismack should be the goal. If they can't get Bismack back, then play Lucas and Jakob more minutes for next season but I have a good feeling he will be back. DeMar is a no doubter, only Laker fans made rumors about his going anywhere else.

How do you guys think Valanciunas is going to do next season? I remember during the Heat series he started to become scary good until his injury of course. If he can come back fine and if DeRozan re-signs, I really think the Raltors can have an even better season this year than last. Not sure what happened in the playoffs with Lowry and DeRozan, but I'm sure it won't happen again.

Raps are interested to make a trade with Sixers for Nerlens Noel, via Zach Lowe.

My only fear is that he might be injury prone. If not, he's a 15+/10+/1.5+ on 55%fg players next season barring no injuries, maybe higher ppg if Raptors use him more in the pick n roll.

Cassey doesn't seem interested in having Jonas as a focal point of the offense. I hope he sees how dumb that is soon enough so Jonas can have the monstrous season we know he can have. He's one of those players who most teams don't really have a plan to defend, Cassey needs to take advantage of that. Derozan stays; 5-years, $139 million. Small paycut. Does this increase any chance of getting Biyombo back? If not who fills that starting PF position that shouldn't be anyone else on this roster lbh?

I honestly think it decreases their chances. Biyombo said he's willing to take a paycut, but after he sees what other players are getting.....no doubt Raptors have difficulty in giving Biyombo what he wants.

Can't orphan us Ugh this team seriously needs to make a play for a solid starting PF. Patterson is good, but he's definitely a bench guy. And I don't like the idea of trading key bench pieces to land one either. Hoping for some kind of a miracle here.

I don't think there's much of quality PFs available. I'd say Raptors can try to pick up Donatas Motiejuanas who is already pals with Big Val.

Kinda bored, so I thought about 4 teams the Raptors have faced within the last 3 years and who were all either on their level but is hard to rank them... especially considering they weren't all at full strength.
2013-14 Brooklyn Nets 2014-15 Washington Wizards 2015-16 Indiana Pacers 2015-16 Miami Heat
I would like to think the Pacers would be the toughest, considering Paul George was the best player the Raptors have faced so far and that they really caused a lot of problems for Lowry and DeRozan. Just had problems scoring the ball outside of George.
Wizards are a true "built for the playoffs" team and trashed the Raptors in a sweep. Beat the team with a combination of interior defense, speed, and outside shooting. It's still crazy how hot this team got from outside the arc. The Raptors were also terrible post ASG break and are by far the worst defensive team fielded in the Dwane Casey era.
The Nets were fielded to dethrone Miami but a lot of that was quickly forgotten once they went to an awful start and Brook Lopez went down with injury. Despite that, they made one of the best second half turnarounds for a team and closed the gap during the regular season vs the Raptors for the division. The closest thing to a team rivalry that the Raptors ever had was built that season as all but 2 of the final 11 meeting were decided in the final possessions. The Lowry block was a heart breaker for a lot of fans who hadn't watched Raptors playoff ball in a while. The Raptors really overachieved this season considering they were the best 4th quarter team in the NBA at the time.
The Heat probably had the most overall talent if their frontcourt could have stayed healthy. The Heat still managed to push the Raptors to the brink and that was a steamrolled by strong play from their backcourt and small ball usage (much like the Nets) when Whiteside went down.
This is probably tough decision, especially if were talking about teams at full strength. I would like to still pick the Pacers, a player like George just causes too much problems for a team like the Raptors and he almost pushed the Pacers to the 2nd round vs the best Raptors team to date.

First game of the preseason going right now in Vancouver. Next game is in Calgary, I was gonna go but tickets sold out quick and I didn't feel like paying 150 for a preseason game.

I know we didn't get to see much of him last game, but man did Bruno look bad in the minutes he had. Doubt we see much of him this season, probably regulated to the dleague again for another year. Siakam looked good, he's gonna see some meaningful minutes this season.

Still will wait on Bruno. Learning curves are different for players and it's not like we can expect all these players to pan out into contributing players all the time. Draft is such a crap shoot after the Top 5-10 range.

Bruno starting today, lets see if he can get a little more comfortable when he's not being asked to do too much on the offensive end.

Season opener in half an hour, think Siakam is getting the start. Hope fouls aren't an issue like it is with most rookies, but it likely will be.
