I liked the start. Decent show.
Was a bit slow, but now it's getting better. Halfway there and I liked the 5th episode the most. Kind of disappointed that it is not really a "military" typical show. It's more of a music centric one.

Much like the kids in Log Horizon derailing the show, I think the same can be said for this show.

Also the beginning of the ending is kinda annoying with that blatant common misplaced mouth (like that K-ON image)

Ok. The last couple of episodes were definitely military focused and I think it did a good job tying the messages it was trying to convey. Didn't like the beginning of the second half but the ending of the second half was enough for me to round the score up.

Speaking of K-on I remember this coming out on the heels of it, and the look and music centered plot made it feel like it was trying to catch that same wave of success.

I can see the attempt, but they failed on the entertaining interactions and bonding that the K-ON girls had vs Sound of the Sky. The music also wasn't as good too. I'd say if you blend Place Farther than the Universe characters with Hibike Euphonium music, you get a closer K-ON replica.

The music is really good, the animation is pleasant to look at, and the setting is interesting, yet I'm finding the characters are kinda holding this show back for me. Rio is the only one I'm finding somewhat interesting so far, though it is still early on for me.

I feel like the show would have definitely been solid at the very lowest if characters improved. Konata showed promise in the first episode, but once it got to the second, I quickly lost interest.

Finished it up, it was alright. Characters grew on me a little bit, though the whole war aspect of the show seemed like an afterthought until the last few episodes, so when it became the focal point I found it hard to follow. Maybe fleshing out the factions involved in the war instead of jamming it into 2 episodes might have helped. Was also gonna complain about how they have fairly advanced tank technology yet rely on bugles for field commands, but then I read a theory that perhaps some kind of weapon in the previous age knocked out and continues to disrupt radio communications, so I guess I can accept that.

The only one that appeared to get decent development from the last war "arc" is Noel, but even then it's much too late. I feel the same way about the war bit. Feels like they thought, oh yeah, we almost forgot this was a military anime and we need to find something that has good closure. I thought it would have made things more interesting if it was earlier, but that would have to force Rio to move away from the unit As for the advanced technology, I thought they explained it in the beginning. There was some kind of "apocalyptic" event that wiped out the existing technology and they were salvaging any parts, equipment, and whatever else they can get around the area that still remain and utilize it. The tank at the time required significant repairs from Noel (she also struggled with repairing).
