It's not over yet. Most of the contracts are 1yr deals. It leaves just enough space to add a $25mil/yr contract next summer. That's not quite max money, but you could back-end some of the money. I don't know if you can legally backend enough money to fix in a max deal under the CBA.

Lakers can stretch out Deng's final year and then you most definitely have max money OR trade Deng's contract next summer when he would enter expiring year of deal. Someone will be willing to absorb his expiring contract. Opens up Kawhi, Klay, Butler, Marc Gasol (if he opts out), Kemba, Anthony-Townes if Twolves can't agree to deal, Cousins next summer. We will see. My hope is we could steal Klay from Warriors or get a Kawhi then...  ;) ;) ;)
