Watched "A Quiet Place". It was very well done and worth the praise. There are some gripes I have with it, but it doesn't ruin the movie. Best horror movie so far in 2018 ? yea it's the best for me so far

It's probably the most suspenseful film I have ever seen. It was actually unpleasantly so cuz I was having a heart attack every second. It wouldn't let up or let me chill out. The only complaint I have against it is the design of the monsters. I thought it was amazing how they barely showed them but when they did, it was like oh that's cool it's cloverfield/demogorgon. I'm sick of this design already. Incredible otherwise. I wonder if it was R rated. cuz not much gore. i hate kids. so annoying. great actors tho

{Spoiler}I was also very annoyed at the kid and his battery. IMO it is their fault and you should never trust children. Take the fucking thing away from him. I'm sorry I would never live this down if I were them.

The opening scene was more jarring and better done that Georgie getting his arm ripped off in IT

Truth or Dare - 2018 - supernatural
I saw this shit with my brother who insisted. I understand why it got such bad reviews. It's not a bad movie if you don't mind horror tropes and a movie that doesn't take itself seriously or isn't trying to say something. This film really doesn't give a shit. It doesn't push anything or do anything remotely new or interesting. Its premise is the marriage between It Follows and Final Destination. You play a game of truth or dare via some supernatural force or demon and if you don't comply, you are killed. Interesting and fun enough. Terribly executed, however. This is a pg13 or pg idk but certainly not rated R. I didn't even know and man I got really angry when I realized. This film has zero gore. None. It's not even violent because all the good parts are implied or cutaway. This shows me this is supposed to be a shitty movie pumped to teens. It's noticeable and jarring to me. Lot of bad acting too. On the plus side, a lot of pretty girls. Some unintentional comedy too so it's a decent stream movie. But this film is like not even remotely as good as the likes of Unfriended. Not worth price of admission. Stream at best. 5/10 and that's being nice

Watched A Quiet Place.. I enjoyed it very much. Acting was very good especially with very limited dialogue. I am guessing they all had to learn sign language for this movie? Not easy to memorize lines and translate into sign language on the fly while on camera. Directing top notch considering there was very little dialogue to work with.. No dialogue in key moments, which means as a director you have to draw out every single detail to your audience and production would be quite challenging. In a regular dialogue movie, plot is easier to show and tell, making direction bit more straight forward as opposed to no dialogue. Story I was expecting to be riddled with plot holes and junk ending, but boy did I end up being wrong! Ending was very good except for one issue I had. Only issue/confusion I had was.. {Spoiler} {Spoiler}Why didn't the daughter realize that it was her earpiece pushing the monsters away every time while in the truck? The dad didn't need to sacrifice himself. Couldn't the earpiece have chased the beast off? She randomly turns it off that very moment.. More questions {Spoiler}There are only 3 of the monsters in that area.. Leads to bunch of questions. How far does that area expand out to? How did the father figure it out? Not a plot hole by any means but leaves so many questions to be desired. Overall.. I will say it is 8/10 (bit better than 10 Cloverfield Lane imo but around there). I wish there was more background or something about how it started or something. I am guessing there will be A Quiet Place 2?? {Spoiler}Dunno where you go from here if there is a part 2. Perhaps mount an attempt to create and get the sound devices into hands of others as a means of hunting down the monsters?

bladefdthe girl was deaf. she wasn't aware of what she was doing. it was pure stupid luck that turned into an epiphany for her at least. I think the dad knew cuz he was tinkering with that shit and was heavily invested in fending off or avoiding the creatures.
As for the 3 monsters thing, I just assume that was his own ideas but with no actual proof I guess? They never say there are only 3. Just that he believes there are only 3.

{Spoiler}yeah, with the three monsters thing, i think that is what he had somehow mentally confirmed for himself. Like he'd at the very least seen / heard 3 at the same time, so he knew for a fact there were 3.
