I'm guessing since you're that far into it already, it's great.

One thing going against it is the OP/ED. Very bland, only watched it once and skipped it every other time.

Pace of the show really slows down about halfway through. Not necessarily a bad thing but I really enjoy the fight scenes with Balsa so it's disappointing to see less of it as the show goes on.

Plan to go through maybe 1 more franchise before starting this show. Also need to study as well.

Strong first episode. I am liking Balsa already. Probably not gonna like this Chagum fella unless he proves me wrong. Opening is not good like you mentioned.

Kinda stuck between giving this an 8 or a 9. The first half really sucked me in, but I found myself a bit less invested through the second half. Feel like it could have benefited from a few less episodes. It does maintain a high level of quality throughout, so I'll just stick with a score of 9. Strong first episode. I am liking Balsa already. Probably not gonna like this Chagum fella unless he proves me wrong. Opening is not good like you mentioned. Yeah Chagum never really becomes all that likable. I never hated him, and he has his moments, but I just found him pretty bland most of the time.

Love the third episode. They really display the terrain situations well. Animation in the fight scenes are excellent and I like the choreography. Refreshing to see a spear wielder against a spear wielder. They pay attention to many small details like blinking frequently to give a sense of realism. Music is also good.

Rather disappointing as I thought the show went away from its strongest strength. And for quite a while too. Just starting to pick up episode 16 and what do you know? It's starting to be better again.

The beginning part before the "stop in attempt" was a 10. Then once the story continued, the show hasn't gotten back to the level. I think the water spirit direction in the second half killed the pacing and the immersion a little bit and made Seirei no Moribito go away from what it does best and that's the simple yet exciting nature of the "hunt".
My mind hasn't changed in the fact that spear to spear combat fight scenes and the various environmental encounters from these hunts are the best of what the show has to offer.
I thought the show would have more character development given the premise, but surprisingly there isn't much of it at all (not a negative though). The characters' current personalities doesn't leave much room for them to change.
Overall, I'd give this show an 8.
Would have given this at least a 9 easily. Shame....
