I'm expecting the Lions to have 2 for sure, mayyyybe 3. Stafford will be 50-60, Slay should be 60-70, and Tate might sneak in there somewhere (prolly not tho)

Top 8 (not in order) Brady Ryan Julio OBJ Brown Mack Rodgers Donald Von better be top 10..... I should have added him there. I had like 6 people vying for those last 2 spots, but got makes it over obj and Antonio imo

Top 8 (not in order) Brady Ryan Julio OBJ Brown Mack Rodgers Donald Honestly, I have a very difficult time ranking defensive players alongside positions like QB/WR/RB in top 10 because now you have to decide which qualities hold more importance. Obviously the lowest starting QBs have more impact on the game than the best starting DE/DTs/LB/etc. i.e. Alex Smith has bigger impact on the overall game result than Von Miller, but Von Miller is easily one of the 3-5 best linebackers I have ever seen play since I started watching football in 05/06. Alex Smith probably doesn't even crack my top 50 QBs I've seen play. LB just doesn't have anywhere near the same impact as a QB or RB, especially nowadays where the rules have further marginalized the defensive side of the game. You can't get physical with the WR or QB anymore - league essentially want hands off. That means we can't fairly judge impact on the overall game. It is very difficult to judge the 2 sides on direct 1:1 ratio as 1 side has a huge advantage in not just impact but also protection by the rules. Due to that, I feel it might be better ranking defensive and offensive players separately tbh.

Due to that, I feel it might be better ranking defensive and offensive players separately tbh. You're thinking about this the wrong way, and vastly overcomplicating it. This list isn't about the intricacies of positional importance, it's about players that are so good at their position that they transcend the label of what they do. Besides, ranking offensive players and defensive players does nothing to quell positional discrepancies. If you're still hung up on positional importance, how could you possibly compare a Tackle with a Quarterback with a Receiver?
