The especially good/bad ones probably wouldn't hurt... Right? SugarHill tskLmao what does this mean Reviewing the specially good horror movies you've seen or the worst ones would be fun. At least to read. What are your favorites? I'd love to read reviews of them.

Sug you really should just watch El orfenato. You'd love it It does sound pretty good, but I got Trouble Every Day and Kill List ahead of it. I should he done with those two this week, so Orfanato probably comes this weekend. Have you heard/read about the two I mentioned though? They have non-horror names, but after reading about them I'm inclined to believe they're going to be at minimum 8/10 both (and a real 8/10, not a bias vampire movie 8/10)

I watched kill list with my brother. We both laughed hysterically at it and he hated it.

I didn't hate it either tho
tbh I can't get jiggy with poor girl turns into rambo horror movies which is like at least 50% of the genre

Hush was a 9/10 for the first half of the movie or so, then it turned into crap. Using the Skipbaylian criteria of assigning more weight to the finish than the start, I can say confidently that Hush is no higher than a 6.5/20 movie. Cute chick though.

maybe i just love this genre lmao the shallows low-key fits into this too I liked it less than all of those. I don't ask for much. Just consistency and believability within the universe. Descent is a good example for my gripe. They set up the asian girl as someone capable of holding her own so when she's doing badass shit, I roll with it. The lady who's crying throughout the film and behaving weak suddenly turning into Ripley is a load of BS to me. I have nothing against badass girls as long as you set that shit up. Don't just let the plot dictate that they need to overcome everything out of nowhere

I don't agree with that criticism tbh
The whole appeal if putting a weak person in a live or die situation is what makes it so intriguing

i just roll my eyes at that shit But it's already a premise that is unbelievable, or at least impossible for regular people to put in perspective. It's dumb to just assume who can and can't survive a live or die situation bc nobody ever has to irl. The character winning the battle within themselves is a cool part of the battle

That's just how I feel. I can't help that it takes me out of the movie but it does. Stuff like the V/H/S series is my jam. They have ridiculous premises that involve characters acting in realistic ways with realistic outcomes based on the premise and what would ideally happen. I don't care to watch the protagonist turn into a superhero. I won't say they're shit movies (sometimes they are) but I don't get anything out of them. I know main bitch is going to be fine.
