Harden won't get more votes than Curry. Harden playing better but getting snubbed..
Considering NY is a huge market, Porzingis will probably win the 5 in East. Lowry is having better season than Kyrie, but Kyrie has more fans...

How are they going to treat Zaza Pachulia? If he finishes second in fan voting, does that mean he gets an automatic spot on the roster even if he isn't a starter? Since the fans are 50% of the vote, that seems pretty major and makes me think that the media and players won't really be able to do much about it

Since the fans are 50% of the vote, that seems pretty major and makes me think that the media and players won't really be able to do much about it Hard for Zaza to get in. Let's say he does get the fan vote. He'll have 2 points from that. Now let's say the media puts him at 18th, to be generous, and the players put him in 12th, to be generous. 1 + 1 + 18 + 12 = 32 32/4 = 8 composite votes The 3 frontcourt players with the fewest composite votes win the starting spot.

Let's say Davis is 4th in fan vote, 3rd in media vote, and 5th in player votes.
4 + 4 + 3 + 5 = 16 16/4 = 4 composite votes

ballup being totally honest, do you think the Jazz will have any all stars this year? Gobert and Hayward are their candidates, with Hayward being the more likely since he averages 22/6/4 on the year with 47/38/87 splits on the 5 seed in the West. I think if he gets in, it'll either be an injury replacement or one of the final two spots available. And should Dame be an all-star this year?

The Jazz are above 0.500 so they'll get one if they stay in good shape. Chances are more likely with KAT's team having a bad record and depending on Griffin's health. Coaches might throw Gasol some love though and things like that could deny the Jazz of an all star.
As for Lillard, I think he is in contention for that last guard spot, but I kind of want him to not get in so that he'll go on another post ASG rampage.

I think DeMar deserved to start the game. Kyrie not so much when compared to the likes of John Wall and Isaiah Thomas

I think Hayward will, most likely as one of the last two spots. He's probably going to have to beat out either Draymond or Klay Thompson for it though. Gobert deserves it more, but he'd actually make the asg competitive which isn't what the league wants

The issue is that Paul is a guard, so a backcourt member will take his spot; neither Hayward nor Gobert are backcourt players (Hayward plays the 3). If that player is someone who was going to be one of the final two spots anyway then that should help

I don't think the replacement has to be the same position area.

West: Curry Westbrook Durant Leonard Davis East: Kyrie DeRozen Butler LeBron Might be Whiteside or Millsap or Pozingis but who cares? Pretty much right on the money except for Harden over Westbrook and Antenkounpa starting. Curry has too many fans to not get voted in with his style of play. Face it - it has become a popularity contest. Remember when Steph was snubbed few years ago? He wasn't yet very popular. Popularity contest is all it is.

I'm not a fan of both Dray and Klay making it. DeAndre over Gobert is a travesty. But that's life, hopefully this lights a fire under Gobert and the Jazz
