I think Ryan's Week 8, and especially Week 9, did a lot for him. Before that, I think that he had a strong start but a few meh weeks, enough so that there wasn't a clear cut MVP candidate on Brady's return. Don't forget what Derek Carr is doing. My top 5 mvps so far.. 1-ryan 2-brady 3-carr 4-elliot 5-stafford david johnson/von miller looking in If Ryan has same record or better than Brady's squad then I give it to Ryan. If Carr's team has 1 less win only then I give him the mvp with the shit defense he has had..

Who else does that almost every play? And their defense this season.. terrible except for week 9 when they looked good.. If Brady had that defense and o-line, he would be crapping his pants.

If Brady finishes the season with a 130+ passer rating, 36 TDs, and zero interceptions (current numbers adjusted for the remaining season), he wins the MVP no matter what. That's what I was saying as far as continuing his current pace, nothing will matter if he manages that.

Not happening. If, coulda, shoulda, woulda Doubting the GOAT is a dangerous game. I bet against him through the power of mathematical probability, and I beat him. Couple more games like that, and he falls to the Matt Ryan stats. Please, don't even bother.

That loss hurts his chances tho. prior to this week, i felt like he had to either win out or only take one L. He has to be pretty much perfect from now out to get the MVP. Especially if Dallas finished 13-3 or 14-2. Zeke should get some love.

Denver is the only game left that's in any kind of doubt. Assuming Brady and the Pats do Brady and the Pats things in all the other games (fair assumption imo) and he can pull out a win in Denver (not as fair an assumption but I have faith), he'll have a solid MVP case imo. This is football though, a lot can happen between now and then.

That was the best week in football this season IMO.. I want to do a deeper analysis of the games I watched and a few of the biggest storylines/takeaway points. Maybe tonight if I remember.

Broncos/Saints ending was spectacular.. I watched it live (didn't watch the whole game) and it was just "WTF!!" Saints had this game won until the defense showed up lol. One of the craziest endings I have ever seen. Packers/Titans.. Well, Packers are totally fucked. I didn't watch this game but paid close attention to the outcome and throughout. I am disappointed that we may not be seeing Packers in the playoffs this year. I had high hopes. No running game, garbage defense.. Rodgers looked frustrated after the game. Falcons/Eagles.. This was the 1am game I saw most of. Eagles defense showed up when it counted. Falcons are back down to Earth officially after a great start. At least the Ryan/Julio still killing it. What a shit defense they have. Vikings very much vulnerable after another bad loss. I can't believe I compared them to some of the best defenses ever like the Steeler curtain of 70s, 85 bears, 2000 Ravens. Pshhh.. /facepalm Cowboys/Steelers.. A game for the ages. I am very disappointed to see Steelers lose what? 3 or 4 in a row? They need to be in the playoffs! Unacceptable for them to miss the playoffs. Where the defense at ffs?? STEELERS, WAKE THE F UP!!! Playoffs ain't the same without you =[ .. As for Cowboys, what can I say that hasn't already been said? That o-line, Elliott, Prescott.. Dez Bryant healthy too. My gosh. These guys are freaking superbowl contenders! 7 lead changes before the Steeler defense gets pushed into their place by Dallas o-line on game winning TD by Elliott. I think this is the greatest o-line I have seen from a team since I started watching NFL in 06. Maybe all time?? Patriots/Seahawks.. BAHAHAHA Steve Nash!! Another game with more than 7 lead changes (2 games with that many lead changes in a single week is the most in nfl history). Seahawks almost blew this by going for 2-pt conversion while up 7 points. Very stupid move. You take the extra point and force other team to score a TD AND do 2pt conversion just to tie. Very hard to do against a Seattle D, who held Brady to 0 tds and 1 int. Pete Carroll almost fucked this up lol. Russell Wilson looked like the Wilson of old from 2nd half of last season. I just don't trust their running game but otherwise, they are ready for another superbowl run! Another year, eh? Especially with Panthers back to being irrelevant once again.

Why would you be disappointed not to see the Packers in the playoffs?
The Vikings D is decimated by injuries. The team losing now is not the same team of the first 5 weeks.

I'm a fan of Aaron Rodgers.. one of my fav players in the nfl with the way he orchestrates that offense like strings on a violin.. Not having Packers in playoffs is disappointing As for Vikings, I haven't seen them play much throughout the season. All I know is they have fallen off the chart last few weeks. Offense also held on first 5 games but has since become completely unhinged. When you rely so much on the defense to carry you, it is disappointing to see how things have turned out.

I think after Brady had a bad game this week. The MVP race got a whole lot tighter

If I was a betting man, I would place my money on carr, ryan, or brady. Elliott's o-line and QB are playing way too good (Prescott will get some votes too).

Miller would have to lead the league in sacks by a couple to be MVP. Donald is better in run stopping anyway

Personally I'd put Johnson in the top 5, loving how he's playing I posted a chart i made on ISH last year about the MVP. It's very much a "best player on the best team" award. In the last 20 years, there has only been two instances (AP and Barry Sanders, both running backs who rushed for 2000+ yards) where the MVP was given to a player from a team who finished outside of the the top 5 in overall team record (and even one of them it was co-mvp).
