Kenny Smith apparently talking to the Rockets lol Seriously though, who the hell would want that job? It sounds like a nightmare situation for a coach.

Agreed, just comes down to money, someone will bite, but as far as opportunity goes, that place is a shithole

IF the Rockets are willing to rebuild a little (ie, not trying to win now around Howard-Harden), it's not a horrible job. I would rather take that than the fucking Kings vacancy. They have some ok young pieces (Capela, Donut, Jones, KJ?, Dekker?), a front office willing to spend, and while we all have our opinions on James Harden, the fact of the matter is he's a top ten player in the NBA in the middle of his prime on a very reasonable contract.

Would Donatas even want to stay in Houston after being nearly traded to the Pistons? I wouldn't.

Skiles stepping down is a surprise... not the best season but he seemed to have them on the right path It is a surprise. He initially put them in the right path, but he quickly lost the team once 2016 strolled by. He isn't good for any development of young players, but good enough to instill a defensive philosophy. He didn't use much of Gordon as an offensive pick and roll option and his desire to have his former players play for him (Brandon Jennings and Ilyasova) through trading Tobias Harris was atrocious.

According to Justin Termine:
Hennigan was pissed at Skiles because he harassed the DeVos family w calls & texts to land job, then said in mid-Jan he no longer wanted it.

Be interesting to see who they pick up... Probably take them a day to regroup considering the suddenness of it, I'm pretty sure coaching search wasn't on their agenda

What a terrible hire. Why hire within? You could say he's already been exposed to Vogel's coaching methods and play style, so McMillan could still run a similar system with potential improvements on offense. Who knows? Difference is, McMillan has been a point guard in the NBA, which helps players trust the coach a little more, although I don't know how much since Vogel already did a spectacular job overall.

According to Jameer, Magic have signed Vogel, just putting it in here. I think it's a great fit

D'Antoni to Rockets.
Can he handle Dwight? Wait, he was with him at Lakers and he kinda couldn't.
