This is the next step that Minnesota needed to take to be a serious playoff team in the near future.
I like it.
Also, keep in mind, if Garnett stays, he'd back up the words of the great Thibodeau

I feel like Rose tried to tell me this wouldn't happen... I didn't think they'd give him control. i've always said it's the job I wanted him to get though.

I thought he'd be given control option at pretty much any opening, you didn't think it would happen there. Great hire though. Him bringing the Spurs dude to GM, and still having KG around will help a lot.

Originally the owner said they were gonna hire a GM and let him do the search and I swore they removed the interim tag from whoever the interim was so I was like oh. Thibs isn't going there now. But things changed and I'm glad they did.

KAT is already probably a top 15 or so player, and having a full season of him being THAT good will be worth a few wins, Thibs himself is worth at least 10, Improvement out of Wiggins will help. He can do some shit with his and LaVine's athleticism...but again he needs a bench. I wouldn't be shocked if they got like 38 but more than that seems to be pushing it IMO.

They lost 18 games by 5 or less points this season. Towns+Lavine+Wiggins all improving and playing more, plus a great coach, plus another move or two and they could really jump. I'm guessing that half of those close games could've been won with just better play calls/execution. That gets them to 38 wins. Then add them improving as players, a game or two over .500 isn't a stretch to me. Sacramento is still going to be butt, Howard will leave Houston, so it'll be Utah and Minny for the 7th/8th seed.

I think the Lakers might get weirdly better if they get to keep their pick. They'll sign some all star to a max deal he doesn't deserve trying to get back to relevancy. maybe even two of them. Probably like DeMar or Beal and then Whiteside.

Good bye KAT's legs.
They need a PG before I buy that core. Or Wiggins needs to improve into a 1B, or even a decent 2 with how good KAT looks like he will become. But right now I don't see it with Wiggins just yet. I hope they get Dunn in the draft.

And as great as he is at everything but shooting it's so hard to have a point guard that can't shoot. It's what is going to be so interesting. He's right on the cusp of being a little too old for Wiggins/LaVine/KAT, and he's just not good enough at shooting to stick around. I feel the same way as Jimmy does, he's probably gotta get a point guard first. I wouldn't be surprised if they did or didn't get a point guard this draft, but they don't necessarily need one. All depends on what side of the Rubio situation you're on. Also they have the dilemma of trading him for stuff that probably won't be as good as Rubio is.

They don't need a PG. Chances are slim they'll get a better one than Rubio.
And yeah, RIP Town's legs and their chances of having an elite offense (unless Thib's hands the offense over to some assistant) They have every chance to be an elite team, but I don't believe in Thibs at all after the last few years.

I don't think Bird is stupid enough to part ways with Vogel because of incompetent coach. That's not the case or that's not how I viewed Vogel's coaching abilities.
I believe it has to be some kind of rift between Vogel and management/players. I can't see management having problems with Vogel, so I believe it is the players. Maybe George voiced his opinion that he wanted Vogel out because he wanted to play more minutes. Who knows?

not sure where they'll fine a better candidate. besides PG13, their roster sucked. Turner's still a rookie. they almost made 2nd round with a bad roster.

I like Vogel, if we didn't have Stevens then I would have loved him in Boston, though if there was a rift with the players then it's understanding but there will be a lucky team that gets his services.

Vogel got screwed and there's nothing Joerger could have done with all the injuries. If anything, both overachieved a bit this season. But I'd say they were two in the same in that Indiana had the slimmest of chance to get to the Finals some years ago and same with Memphis. Both missed their window and it's now closed. I think a rebuild is going to be needed, so you might as well start at the top. Indiana has already started with losing Hibbert and West, and drafting Turner. Memphis looks like they might need a complete overhaul, though it will be interesting with the contract Gasol just got.

Why the hell would the Grizzlies part ways with Dave? I don't get it, that dude had a lottery team in the playoffs, Phil Jackson needs to start talking to him immediately.
