Atlanta Braves (-) My thoughts: Cubs deserve their #1 ranking and will hold it barring catastrophic injuries. Nats looking for real too. Jays are too high until they prove that their pitching can hack it. Shaky bullpen, starters are primed to regress, they'll have to overcome both of these obstacles to play October baseball. Boston will rise when Price finds his form. Baltimore should tail off. Houston is in a funny spot, pitching is unproven but I'll wait until they're whole before writing them off. Diamondbacks will be better, Greinke needs to find himself, whether or not they'll be playoffs good remains to be seem but I think it's unlikely.

Their offense is nowhere near where it was last season. 5 is waaayyy too high. I would like an explanation, mister!

I can explain theirs though: Toronto is still at 5 because it seems as though there's a common belief that they'll experience positive regression as the season goes on. The White Sox are playing in a weak division and their pitching (particularly the bullpen) will probably regress as the season goes on. There seems to be some focus on reputation rather than results but with the length of the baseball season, waiting before drastically altering a team's ranking isn't a big deal. If the White Sox sustain this through another month, expect a big rise.
