(I didn't create thread, I merely moved this post) Due to my lazy ass, this is a late thread for September viewing thread. Feel free to send your pitchforks at me. Welcome to the third installment of TNBTE's "Simulcast" watching. As discussed, for those that are/will continue to be interested, please finish Planetes before end of September. You can watch them in the following stream sites if you don't download: kissanime.ru or 9anime.to or another anime stream site. This is at your OWN pace. You can binge watch anytime or watch an episode a day or whatever. Should be doable with an episode a day. Any post after September 30th, you do not need to spoiler your post when discussing the series. Please spoiler tag if you plan on going into specifics. You can choose to discuss while watching or after you finish watching. Whatever floats your boat (or if you're masochistic, sinks your boat) Info about Planetes myanimelist.net/anime/329/PlanetesFall 2003 26 episodes Current score 8.37 (42,343 users) Studio: Sunrise

I'll start watching it after Paranoia Agent. Wanted to technically watch Golden Time and Shiki first since they were on my watching before Planetes, but I'm paranoid that I won't finish by the end of the month if I try to stall any longer

Some of these space ninjas attire are very un-ninja-esque like Naruto

That Yuri episode was the best one mainly thanks to the second half. Nice blend of everything.

Planetes does a real good job at wrapping up episodic conclusions. Reminds me of Cowboy Bebop in that respect.

Ok this episode was the best.
Fee Carmichael's actions reminds me of Moe for some reason. All she wanted was a fucking smoke and she kept getting cockblocked. Then she had enough of continuing to be denied and decided to take extreme measures to avoid another similar situation from happening. Her actions, use of language, cockblock scenes, and that final scene in the end made this episode hilarious.

Tanabe is a nice girl, it was Hoshino's behavior I found annoying. For the first half she was annoying and Hoshino wasn't because she butts into people's business way too much and her behavior is detrimental to worker safety. She doesn't keep her emotions in check. What's worse is that her high sensitivity causes her to act irrationally. For the second half, Hoshino became annoying and not her. His overly aggressive behavior, lashing at people even though he's the one who put himself in that position in the first place, his unreasonable desperation while at the same time not being smart about it, overreactions to events without trying to understand people until pretty much the last couple of episodes.

Tanabe was always motivated by trying to do the right thing though, so I didn't really mind when she screwed things up. Hoshino's cold behavior towards her in the second half was frustrating but it didn't ruin the series for me, and while it got away from the SOL type stuff with the terrorist plot I did still find it quite interesting. Overall I did like it a lot, though I didn't think it was the masterpiece I was led to believe it was going into it.

Tanabe was always motivated by trying to do the right thing though, so I didn't really mind when she screwed things up If Hoshino wasn't as experienced, he would have died. I'm not sure how you would feel then, but since he was a main character, obviously the author would want him to live being that early in the show. As for the terrorists thing, they didn't really show much of the fighting when the terrorists came. Bit disappointing. Also those terrorism scenes felt like asspulls to me and being 2075, I can't help but wonder how the security still remains so lax despite technological advancement. It's freaking space we're talking about. Any screw up by any act can be really damaging.

It's freaking space we're talking about. Any screw up by any act can be really damaging. Wasn't there just the one incident where her actions potentially put others in danger? We don't even really see the full extent of that either, she runs into some debris and then Hoshino gets pissed at her. I didn't really think much of that scene, I felt like it was meant to tell you how troubled she was by the situation with Gigalt rather then paint her as incompetent. She does put her life on the line to save Yuri in that same episode.
