The Story So FarThe early years of the 21st century were marked by the exploding popularity of the internet, and save for the revolutionary new convenience and sheer quantity of internet pornography, the most notable development was in the formation and growth of community forums and message boards. And while the likes of Facebook, Myspace, Youtube rose and fell and their collective contributions amounted to surprisingly little, the community that would create the most profound impact on humanity's history was an unlikely faction that called themselves the BTE.
However, as gifted as these minds were, they too were largely unable to conceive of the greatness that would lay ahead of them. And so this group of friends would over time find themselves slowly drifting away from each other, forging new lives and hunting for the dreams they had outside of the realm of the internet. Painful as it was, it was something that they each knew was something inevitable, something that they knew was necessary.

That was twenty years before this story. The individual lives and accomplishments of these BTE members could fill libraries and inspire songs for millenia. In no case was this was more apparent than in the case of BasedTom, who, in his young life as the outspoken and controversial founder of the imaginatively named BasedTom Foundation, had achieved such titles such as Exalted God-Emperor Divine of the Holy Roman Empire of Eurasia, the Americas, and the Moon Colony of New Hyperborea and all its Riches. For his old internet friends, it was difficult to imagine that this enigmatic famed multi-quadrillionaire had spent many of his formative years of early adult-hood posting right with them on the good old BTE.
An even more remarkable surprise came in the form of personal invitations to a BasedTom island-mansion estate, sent by BasedTom himself. It was no fake or hoax for despite all the years they each instantly knew the writing to be only that of their old friend. On the island estate there was going to be a reunion. Beyond the obvious appeal there was a promised special excitement which Tom guaranteed none would ever forget.
The BTE members made their way to the island and found themselves instantly at home. There was a lot of catching up and reminiscing that first morning, and nothing short of a mythical level of revelry and partying in the night. Yet through all of it, BasedTom himself had still not shown himself. The hungover guests all woke up the next morning inside the Mansion's Parlour. As they recollected themselves and prepared for the next day of festivities, there was a tragic discovery. The lynched corpse of one of their own, bladefd . Women everywhere still mourn him to this day.
The room erupted in chaos, tears, and speculation all at once. "Wait...you don't think this could be...like the old days?" "No, that can't be right! This is some sort of joke, right?!" Finally, through a large ornate monitor in the room, BasedTom revealed himself.
Their fears were true. Tom explained that the guests were trapped in a real life game of Mafia. There were appointed murderers among the lot. "This is insane!" "We can't kill each other, there must be another way!" "Some of us have families!" "I've come this far, I don't want to die a virgin!"
BasedTom looked down one last time at his guests, and said only "The Day Begins." @iamoutbreak Steve NashRondoTheEtherDay 1 begins now and ends at 5 pm Eastern, and everyone has a one day no vote limit, so be wise |
