There's a thread on top stuff in anime: thenewbte.boards.net/thread/614/5x5s-top-4x4s-3x3s-2x2sFollowing along though, here's the post I made in that thread regarding duos Duos (Jan 11, 2017) I think of duos as working together and seen together majority of the time. I get that there can be protagonist and antagonist duos (ex: L and Light) or enemies hating each other but that's not how I really see it at first. It's just that they're trying to obtain knowledge of their enemy and find the most opportune time to strike, so that's not very "duo"-like. i.imgur.com/JSyIF1q.jpgSaitama & Genos (One Punch Man) | C.C & Lelouch (Code Geass series) | Kurisu & Okabe (Steins;Gate) Shigeo & Reigen (Mob Psycho 100) | Edward & Alphonse (FullMetal Alchemist) | Gon & Killua (Hunter x Hunter 2011) Elizabeth & Katsura (Gintama) | Holo & Lawrence (Spice & Wolf) | Alba & Ross (Senyuu) Labelled From left to right Haven't gotten across to teams or couples yet.

My favorite kind of duo/team are the ones that work together to defeat an enemy threat or accomplish a mission, rather than just an anime with two really good characters that stand out above the rest regardless of whether they're on the same side or not.

Seiren as a whole was an amazing team. But the chemistry and growth of the two freshman characters was unmatched. It was really cool to watch their relationship grow and see them start to trust each other and learn each other's way of playing basketball. As a solo threat, neither were one of the top 5 talents in Japan High School Basketball, but together they were able to accomplish what none of the top 5 players could. It was also cool that the series highlighted other teams' relationships on and off of the court.

My favorite team that includes more than three or four characters has to be the strawhats. One Piece was the original Nakama anime. The action in One Piece is amazing, but the main focus of series is the crew coming together, forming bonds, and interacting together. I feel like Nakama should be the main genre, and action second, that's how much of emphasis they place on forming believable relationships between the crew. Watching them interact is more entertaining than watching them kick ass, which they do a lot of, especially within the first 400 episodes. Out the 9 crew members, each member has a different kind of relationship with the other individual members, other than Luffy who treats all of the other members pretty evenly which is one of his best qualities as a captain.

For team, I'd be more lenient with enemies on a team if it's at least a one time thing with an enemy or mission purpose, assuming the arc covers a significant amount of episodes (ie Vegeta with DBZ). I can't be as forgiving for enemies in duos because I consider duos to be really tight with each other or at the very least, they hang out together without ANY desire in planning to kill their opponent in the future. I don't think any of the duos I have in my favorites are just because they stood out. They're actually hanging out with each other and/or fighting and/or planning together

There probably won't be a couples category for 3x3 anytime soon, so Assuming by couples, you mean official ones that both recognize each others' love and not who you want to ship, I'm going to list couples per post (will explain my choice when I get the time) Okabe & Kurisu (Steins;Gate) Their personalities mesh well and I like how they're both passionate in experiments/research. Kurisu is light on her tsundere-ness and she isn't abusive. If she was, I don't think she would be a fitting partner for Okabe. There really is nothing more for me to say because most people here watched Steins;Gate and should already tell why they're on of the best i.ytimg.com/vi/kk69xGFTXuM/maxresdefault.jpg

Takagi & Kaya (Bakuman series) 68.media.tumblr.com/3cbf0994f6651cd56c4c4f23bbf7524e/tumblr_n3cvwruE8V1sg8uodo1_500.gifI don't know if this will be spoilers or not, but they didn't keep it a secret. They're determined and well prepared married couple. They waited to get married at the right time by waiting years for Takagi to rebound with a popular manga for their Shounen Jack. Series has shown plenty of times Takagi's drive and motivation to achieve his goals as well as make a living so Kaya doesn't have to be committed to a job. Kaya helps the team to finish up the touches before the deadline. Her eccentric energy compliments well with Takagi's intelligence. Extra bonus point: Kaya knows how to save if they're in financial trouble.

Ararararararagi & Hitagi (Monogatari series) static.zerochan.net/Monogatari.full.1231246.jpgTheir romance isn't the typical high school romance you see in anime. Both Arararagi and Hitagi don't have trouble conveying their feelings for each other. At times, Hitagi slights Koyomi with funny, well thought out insults especially in early arcs of Monogatari. Her cold and calm demeanor she displays throughout is refreshing and she has shown in the series her willingness to go to great lengths to sacrifice herself for Koyomi. Of course, Koyomi is willing to do the same. What helps them stand out even more is their voices

Shinra & Celty (Durarara!!) pm1.narvii.com/6047/37dac4c9c2d7b1b57a63488fa8d2acd75b8fd2d3_hq.jpgThis isn't as good as the ones I posted or will post. Part of the reason why I posted this one is because Durarara had shit load of couples, such that it would seem odd not to have at least one in the list. Overall though, I think they're a fun couple. Shinra's horny thoughts with Celty's responses helps a lot with this. Shinra's dedication to the headless dullahan is intriguing to watch. Certainly a unique couple. Durarara though has so much characters, they don't have as much exposure as a typical TV series would have

Holo & Kraft (Spice & Wolf) s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/70/7f/56/707f56563d804cbe43e302c6ca20787c.jpgThis is one of the few couples in Anime that I can listen to practically all day and enjoy their conversations. They both come up with clever responses to say to each other, so I don't find any of their dialogues boring. It also isn't the typical romance. You can see their relationship with each other develop gradually and there is nothing forced. It's all natural (best part about them) as if they were already married/dating, but they aren't. Technically, they both haven't admitted their love, but I still think they're a couple because Kraft didn't choose to have his own shop when he could. He chose to continue to journey with Holo. Besides, they're both smart enough to be able to tell they love each other based on body language and tone of their conversations

If you're a fan of Baccano Yeah those. I love their Durarara cameos too. It took me a while to warm up to them, but once they met Firo's future to be, I started to enjoy them better Another couple that needs to be mentioned: Shichika x Togame pa1.narvii.com/6107/3d951543a323ccb96317d0502e9f465ed70b5b0f_hq.gifTogame's reactions to Shichika's ignorance of pretty much anything that doesn't involve fighting is great. Their dialogues have been constant entertainment. Although they follow the typical tropes and their coupling felt forced at first, I believe their characterizations and major developments later on are done well enough to not even think of this as a negative. They couldn't be more different from each other but they definitely compliment each other which helps their dynamic interactions such that I feel they are a top 3 couple.
