i would not censor anything in terms of content (holocaust denial and all that good stuff too) but i'd demand a respectful formulation at all times

also, keep 1 thread for 1 topic, don't allow hundreds of threads of the same thing flood your board like for example the refugee stuff on that ISH site. just merge them into one.

I think we should have light moderation, but make it firm. I agree with Don that no topic should be above discussion, but I also get really tired of the shit Harry did, calling people niggers and other forms of overt and extreme racism. We should have a very small set of rules that should not be crossed. If they continue to break them, they should be gone. The problem with ISH is not a lack of rules, but extremely inconsistent enforcement.


We probably only need one person who can ban for now. Maybe add KB later.

Like I said in the long term, I would be willing to invest in our own forum when I have the $$$. Maybe in a year or two. 


Maybe we have too many? I don't know. Think of how empty most of ISH's subforums were....

Because that's just asking for someone to start banning people they just don't like.

Also, one more thing that should be an insta-ban; posting pics of people or personal information.

The way I view it

As long as people are backing up their claim with arguments in regards to sports, then they can insult the person as much as they want. Simplistic arguments ie 2/7, etc is not the right message I'm trying to convey.

Outside of Sports, we're very lenient. Just no spamming of NSFW pics in General Discussion when we have a NSFW, no laughing at any posters who have families that got cancer or something (something obvious), you can bait if you want for the lulz just not ISB/Cactus level type shit.

Don't snitch this location is another one, but obviously it won't last.

The goal of moderation is to make sure things don't go too far or go too shitty in quality that the thread becomes unreadable.

I didnt think anyone was going to go around banning everyone. Its important that there is a clear set of rules so we dont argue over who is to be banned.

My second point was more important anyway. We had problems with that in the BTE before.

You're right. It won't last because we might have better career jobs that would not allow us to have freetime.

One thing about ISH is how often threads will be highjacked for petty beefs from another thread. Posters will follow each other and keep their little cat fight going. If that ever becomes a problem here, I want the instigator banned for that.

I'd give off a warning instead.

Tell them to knock it off or action will need to be taken since the quality of thread has turned into shit.
