Speaking of gooning. I don't think I'd want to play Memphis again if I were the Warriors. Some of those guys might not be keen on getting 73 dumped on them. I really think they don't want Utah in the first round either. They're too tough for their style and kinda rough them up a little. Not a matchup nightmare or anything, but they'd easily beat the Rockets/Mavericks in comparison.

If they play the Jazz, then Portland, then OKC/Spurs at least that would be more of a challenge than last year. Watch out for Matt Barnes pulling a Jalen on Steph in the next game. Just throwing that out there.

The Knicks are really using a remixed version of Vanilla Ice's Ninja Rap from TMNT2?

IDK, i think i might rather see spurs/thunder then thunder/warriors over spurs/warriors in the western conference finals thunder/warriors>>>>> I actually think a healthy Clippers-Warriors would be the best series. Strangely enough, the Clippers were their Bad Boy Pistons. Kind of feels cheap that they never had to beat them to advance in the playoffs last season. Of the competing teams, there's two established "rivalries" of sorts in the West. OKC-Spurs and Clips-Warriors. That's what I hope we get. imo it's more likely those two series go 7 than the Spurs-Warriors.

I really don't think the Spurs/warriors is gonna be as good as people think now. Every game the Warriors had any sort of speed in they won. Spurs can't play that way with this roster unless Pop is hiding their offense from two years ago in there somewhere. Hopefully the Thunder beat them in the playoffs and that gives us what I think is the better WCF. You flip flop far too easy lol.

It's not that I don't think the Spurs could beat them, but I can't see them setting the pace four times in a series. Whereas OKC can play at their pace and be competitive

First off I think OKC is a bad matchup for SA, although better than it was a few years ago. Either way OKC lacks the depth to really win. It's Durant, Westbrook and intermittent contributions from Adams and Kanter. Ibaka has turned into dogshit and no one has noticed somehow, not that I was ever in love with him in the first place. I can see them putting up a fight, but they just straight up lack talent. Waiters, a legitimate D League quality player gets 30 minutes. Roberson is a good defender but contributes nothing on offense and is a big part of the team, Foye is another bum they play. They HAVE to play those guys because they have no one else. It's kind of like the Lakers in 03 when Kobe and Shaq were still elite but most of the guys like Fox, Horry, and Shaw were just getting old and not that good.
Warriors and Spurs might just come down to depth like I said in the past. If the Spurs beat on the warriors over a series I think you might see them start to revert to the sort of stuff we've seen from them the past few weeks when they're tired, where they take lazy shots, and they won't win like that. The warriors have depth, but just not anywhere near SA. If GS can get a handle on the series early before that really maters, I don't see SA winning. Not just in terms of series length either, but if they can get some easy games and keep the spurs from playing physical (IE refs get involved) Also I don't think GS can win if Curry has a series like he did vs memphis or cleveland last year. Aldridge is huge in a same way for SA. If he's not there to exploit the lack of size it's not going to be possible for SA to win. Overall I say it's a coin flip.

I just don't see how you think it'd be a better series after watching the four games, literally every time the Warriors move up the pace they pulled away against them. In the first half there were 42 shots taken by the Warriors, that's an unrealistic pace for a team to pull of in a series against the Warriors and even then the game was so fucking close a turnover probably could have decided who had the lead.
At least the Thunder have pieces defensively. Ibaka can guard Draymond even on the perimeter. Roberson can guard Klay. They can switch pick and rolls easy, which the Spurs can't since West just is too slow, Timmy is now too slow even if he always guesses right, and LMA isn't good enough around the rim to make up for that. Durant and Russy would at least win you two games on their own, probably three. Plus their games were all close, the Spurs got blown out twice. Pop just might not have that extra card up his sleeve which is fine, not a lot of teams can beat the Warriors let alone 4 times in 7. They have better shooting, they have better offensively players, they just don't have a good enough coach.

Well for one, these regular season matchups just dont mean much. It gives you an idea on a few things, but the playoff series will be different.
Secondly, the one advantage the Thunder certainly dont have is on D. The Spurs will be great on D vs GS. The Thunder just arent a good defensive team at all. The only way the Thunder do much is if they dominate rebounding, and Kanter gets big minutes and goes off. They cant win with defense, they just dont have the talent, especially since WB wastes defensive plays by gambling. They play guys like Roberson and Ibaka to try and fill the defensive holes, but theyre not good like Ibaka a few years ago and Sefolosha. Adams is really the only defensive piece on that team, excluding the intermittent WB game. They have a great offense, great rebounding, but theyre just subpar at D and really rely way too much on two guys.
Its really insane to say OKC has pieces defensively while the best defense since the 08 celtics doesnt.
I dont see any way Kanter goes off on SA either. Unless hes improved waaaay more than I think.

Are we gonna do a separate thread for the draft or anything?
Like one thread for the lotto, one for prospect reports, one for draft night etc? Or just keep all the stuff in here or what?

Durant's 20 point streak at 64 now, can't get any better at scoring than that.

Durant's 20 point streak at 64 now, can't get any better at scoring than that. I think he's the second greatest wing scorer ever. Or he will finish there when you consider efficiency, versatility, skillset, and consistency over his career. Assuming no more career threatening injuries. Hell, maybe he surpasses Jordan. He's building that sort of resume. This whole Durant-Russ dynamic is really one of the interesting plots I can remember. Durant will go down as an ATG. One of the best pure scorers in history. Potentially a top 10 player, depending on his postseason success going forward. Westbrook can walk into any game and get a triple-double by halftime if he damn well pleases. I truly believe that. He's awfully close to a generational talent. There is no question in my mind that Durant is one. Yet, they have so much trouble coexisting to create a championship team. I don't think it's a chemistry issue. They seem to actually be friends and they play off each other rather well. Personally, I think their role players are mostly garbage but there's enough talent there for them to not be losing the games they do. Worse rosters have done well. So what's the issue? Is it two #1 options, neither willing to relinquish their top dog stature? That worked well enough with Shaq and Kobe to create a dynasty. Is it because they play too similar of a role on the team? The unusual part is they have been playing with one another for essentially their entire careers. They came in the league one year apart as 19 and 20 year old kids. This stuff should have figured itself out when they grew up together, both as players and men. This isn't a case of two uber talented guys, paying their dues solo, and then teaming up. That's when you usually have to figure out chemistry, putting aside egos, and whatever else. I don't know. I hope they fail miserably, tho, stunting their legacies. Then someone writes a good book on it.

Anyone watching Spurs Thunder? I have only been able to catch one time these teams played this year so I really don't know that much about how they match up with different line ups. But they'll most likely meet int he WC semis and it seemingly should be a good series

Yo, Miami get too comfortable ?
They got their lead cut down by a lot... Boston might run out of gas, though.
Same thing with Charlotte, they had a big lead.

Get to face Boston again to make it up for some revenge perhaps.

Raptors ended the season 56-26, 4th best record in the NBA.
Crazy to believe that this team would have been a 60+ win team if DeMarre Carroll and Jonas Valanciunas didn't miss 70+ combined games.
