an ethical dilema i had was someone returning a work laptop they had borrowed. it was in sleep mode. opened it up and browser just had tabs of hardcore bondage porn (hogtied.com lol) and google searches for genital herpes and how to get rid of them...... Where was the dilemma? |

it's a work laptop. for work purpose. with a disclaimer saying this when you log in. in an industry where it's REALLY not appropriate.... Is not appropriate to watch porn at home? who cares. Sure if he had been surfing for childrens pornography but porn, everyone does it. Even females. Not something to get your panties in a bunch about. If you told someone he had been surfing porn, you think they'd really care? |

If you told someone he had been surfing porn, you think they'd really care? ...... you have obviously never had a real job. this is a work laptop loaned out for staff when they need to do work from home. all staff agree to a notice of appropriate use with all our i.t devices. imagine if the first time it's opened is in front of children, customers, bosses, management, investors, god knows who else. hell just showing someone that kind of stuff in the work place is grounds for a sexual harassment suit these days. Nope, well I don't know what accounts for a real job, but whatever. Who cares. Why would children open up a work computer. |

I told them I can't file misleading, incorrect information to the government when I am aware of the facts and circumstances. They have to report it if they want me to help or they do it on their own. My point of view is I don't want to be fired, get fined, go to jail, risk losing license, etc. |
