they thought he was gonna be the new palpatine, but then if he was, people would complain about him being too similar to palpatine

Snokes death was okay in my books. His death really showcased Kylo's power. Kylo disguised his true intentions/feelings and made Snoke believe he was completely committed to Snokes cause. While doing this he was actually preparing Snokes death with the light sabre. Kylo the boss.

Kylo is everything Vader wanted to be but couldn't. And he still has both hands attached with a cool scar to boot.

what the fuck. Last time it was like the same. I don't get why they'd hate it.... I've read that a lot of people think Johnson ruined Star Wars and there were too many girls in it Just wait till the next one when Rey becomes the ultimate Mary Sue by somehow being a Jedi Master despite not ever really having done anything herself. She didn't really beat Kylo in the forest but he was already injured anyway, she's almost caved to the dark side several times, she didn't kill Snoke, didn't bring Ben back to the light, didn't bring Luke back to the galaxy although you can debate that I guess, and....her biggest accomplishment is either convincing James Bond to free in TFA or lifting a lot of rocks with the force.

Luke lost to Vader way worse than she did to Kylo. They both lifted some rocks. They had some help defeating the "big bad" emperor/snoke with vader/Kylo. I mean its basically the same shit for a new generation anyway for these first two films, so its whatever. But people are gonna be so fucking furious to see her presumably training padawans and shit in IX I guess you could make the argument that by losing his hand to Vader, and the shocking revelation thats his father, Luke was more trained, on an emotional/mental scale, than she has been but still. I get scores around 8, maybe even 7.5 but anything below that and im like wtf. The only truly bad thing was space wizard Leia which is worse than ANYTHING Lucas ever did, fight me, but everything else is just nitpicky stuff that's pretty subjective. I mean we're arguing about a franchise that has 9 movies and 2 are heavily criticized, an okay one, 2 so-sos, 2 good ones, and 1 great one before this one which is whatever it ultimately winds up being. I'm comfortable in saying its at least OT quality. It is probably more than that but I want to see it again before I make my final decision on a score/where I'd rank it. But as a whole I mean I'd argue that the Fast and the Furious franchise has more good or better movies than Star Wars has at this point in one less movie When the first 2 movies especially are panned, and there's handful of okay or so-so movies you can't really say the franchise is destroyed

And the space wizard scene only annoys me because they obviously had it already filmed to the point where they could have written her out. I applaud them though for sticking to it, but it sucks that barring some unused footage/CGI again she'll just die vaguely offscreen or in the scroll for the next one. Everyone was prepared to see her die on screen in this one, so it just would have been better.

The Finn/Rose scenes were okay and it would have paid off with Finn dying, but they would have never had the balls to do that.

I liked snoke's death. It was very unexpected. I kept expecting him to regenerate like Frieza SAME! That whole scene was badass though. Kylo tricking him, basically Snoke narrating his own death, then the team up, wowowowowowow. And then the talk afterwards about how they need to abandon the old ways basically set up the rest of the movie/probably future of the franchise wowowowowowowowowowowowowowowowowowowowowowowow.
