10 ago years I saw what I still think is the scariest/most uncomfortable horror movie. I feel like Iβve definitely seen stuff that has been more gruesome, gross, creepy, wild, etc.. but I can honestly say no movie Iβve seen has affected me more than this one. Felt weird while watching it and for a long time after that I bring it up because I just saw a study that agreed it was the scariest horror film based on the viewerβs average heart rates throughout the movie movieweb.com/sinister-scariest-horror-movies/Best jumpscare was darth mail dude from insidious sinister just seemed boring lol i cant take that darth maul dude serious

It was a very fun movie to watch in theaters nonetheless. I donβt think it was as good as the James Wan films tho Another funny thing is two of my favorite James Wan movies werent even directed by him. Annabelle creation and Conjuring 3. Iβm surprising I liked Annabelle creation because I thought the first one was horrible aside from that basement scene. I found Sinister more disturbing than any of those tho, mostly because it wasnβt whimsical. Very dark flick. But I was also 19 when I saw it, probably wouldnβt find it as bad now. Part of it was the soundtrack, most unsettling soundtrack in a movie ever imo. And it was a found footage film without the entire movie being found footage, which was cool

first half of insidious 1 is god like and second half is silly. I ignore the other insidious movies these are all top-tier takes. inisidious actually pisses me off. there are so many cool fuckin ideas in that movie. some well executed and some trash. i still get chills thinking of the very end where she takes the picture of dude and it's actually the witch when the poloroid comes out. that shit was so cool. and the idea of the further is no cap a beta version of the upside down from stranger things but they ruined it with darth maul. and a super rushed end in the further. fuckin shame

They just shouldnβt have made him a real guy I think thatβs what ruined it. He was a joke Scariest actual scene was when the mom saw the kid running through the house with the record playing. Jesus Christ.

Sinister is mid and Annabelle creation is good U watch ur damn mouth. Sinister isnβt necessarily a great movie. It was just super uncomfortable The music playing in the tapes alone was nightmare inducing. Idk where they got that soundtrack from. Hell probably Iβll never forget this fucking song.

If weβre talking about specific scenes that stuck with me, the penthouse scene in [rec] fucked me the first time I saw it
Another one I always think of is when they go to the grandmas house in paranormal activity 3 or 4, when everyone goes missing and they find the coven of the creepy ass old people at the house. Old people are scary as shit

If you talk about functional effectiveness in horror, this movie was up there with jaws imo. If this shit was made in the 70s or 80s it would no doubt be considered one of the best movies ever. It would have been possible too because the is movie 100% practical effects I believe, not even impressive ones either. when they slashed his tires. Come on. The fact that they were in the house looooong before the MCs even knew. I was pissed watching strangers

Fuck this movie respectfully. My mom took my brother to see this in theaters when he was a kid and ran out. same thing happened to me when she took me to see anaconda when I was 5. i donβt think she did that purpose, she just liked going to the movies. I think she took me to see Jurassic Park 2 also which was fucking not a movie a 6 year old needs to watch. It was so loud

i almost had a heart attack when this happened Itβs funny but this clip somehow does this scene no justice. There was nothing like watching this movie as kid and seeing this scene for the first time. I feel the movie was like all talk until that point. It was the psychological build up and the reactions within the movie
