Harper will win another MVP if he has the same kind of year as last season but I hope that he doesn't win. Not a likeable player imo. It also bothers me that his team's record meant nothing in the MVP vote for him while Trout lost one in 2013 for that exact reason.
I like that Votto finished 3rd in MVP voting last year, he doesn't get the attention he deserves.

How Trout's odd is so high that Angels are expected to be at the bottom of AL West?

Cain at those odds is nice. Good dark horse IMO. Wouldn't be shocked at any of the top 5 or so winning the NL one.

I could see Rizzo challenging for it, though he's definitely an outside shot. Him vs Bryant is gonna be decided on how well Bryant adjusts to his sophomore campaign, as well as how the league adjusts to him.

I'm not as high on Rizzo as others are. I think he's gonna be a really good player, but I think MVP is gonna be a stretch.

I agree, just think that he'll have a better shot than Bryant based on current information. Also, baseball can be an odd sport as far as MVPs...it's much more likely for a every good (but not great) player to have an MVP year and then return to more average (still very good) kind of production imo, making the potential MVP pool much wider than it is in other sports. Really enhances the fun of trying to predict a winner, I don't think the same can be really be said for other major North American professional sports.

The NHL is something I'd like to argue for, but the MLB having two separate MVP awards provides an additional player each year to the MVP pool. NFL doesn't count. Outside of die-hard fans, no one remembers the MVP of the AFC/NFC if they didn't win the top honours.

I just looked through the NHL MVP winners over the past ~60 years, recognized every single name there (and there are only a few there I wouldn't expect most fans to know). Baseball is different. I know more about baseball history than I do any other sport and there are names on that MVP list I either don't recognize or am amazed that they won MVPs..that doesn't really seem to happen anywhere else.
