It's alright. It's better than what I initially thought. I thought you didn't trust the name because it sounded like some kind of hentai

I didn't know about it until 2015. I would say ~end of 2012-start of 2013. Ive started watching anime again around that time. Even the comments were different. They fixed that in 2014. I noticed when I was rewatching Kill la Kill. It had hilarious comment that got lost after the migration to disqus.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes and Neon Genesis Evangelion are 1a and 1b to me I have those both ranked the exact same. Eva was unique in that I enjoyed it more the second time through.

Eva and Utena are both shows that really benefit from a more distant second viewing when you can focus on some of the smaller shit you missed the first time. It really is a more complete experience... especially if Shinji's antics got to you during the first viewing

I wonder if they want staff members to upload videos. That's probably why they aren't having any luck.

I have those both ranked the exact same. Eva was unique in that I enjoyed it more the second time through. Maybe I should consider watching Galactic Heroes too LOGH has no official english dub yet and was made and remastered over the course of decades. It is a true epic. flaws: -depending on where you watch it, you might bounce between seeing the original animation version from the early 80s to the new HD ones to back again, etc -might be too long and heavy on politics and that sort of thing for some people -the different factions motivations are usually so well thought out that at the end one of the final factions winds up kinda being generic bad guys and it's that much more obvious that it might detract from the endgame -the next episode previews at the end of episodes blatantly spoil what happens next, SKIP THOSE (the show was conceived more of an adaptation with the expectation that those who watch it already know the story) -the golden wings movie is an abortion that I would recommend skipping to preserve a fan's otherwise spotless view of the series it's kind of like GOT in the sense that "oh shit anyone can die at any time" but it feels a lot less forced and for shock value and moreso because that's just the nature of brutal chaotic war with insane casualty amounts in every space-battle.

As long as there are subtitles, I'm good. I don't need an official dub, as I'm sure someone that is well knowledgeable in Japanese would be the one translating. Dubs also back then probably were terrible. -I'm planning to watch on kissanime if it's there. -Depends on the politics. If it's like war strategies and how to approach a situation without appearing as an enemy type thing (ala Code Geass), I have no problems with that -Being able to predict easily on the outcome won't turn me off from the series. There are times when I thought I was absolutely sure of things didn't come out to be true. -I don't usually watch next episode previews if it's after the credits, but thanks for the heads up. -Golden Wings movie. Got it. I won't watch that one. Thanks Tom.

Got it. I won't watch that one. Thanks Tom. There's a lot of both, with a lot more of the depth focused on the latter. the former can look a bit clunky at times (first episode can feel like you're watching a board game being played out) but once you get invested into the series it's hard to put down. The timeline of the events of the full series is also different from release order, as there's side series and films that were made later. Some people recommend watching in release order, others recommend chronological. Chronologically might be better appreciated one you watch the main series first and understand the context and characters of the people in question. Otherwise you might not really see what things are building up to and instead get the feeling that it's a bit directionless, since a character's time in a military academy or as a lower ranked member of the military might be less interesting than if you were to go back to it later.

Sweet. That's why I love Deathnote manga and Code Geass anime so much. It's because of the strategy one has to invoke to beat their opponent. I'll watch chronological order. Flows better that way.

Yeah, and the protagonist and the antagonist both want the same thing "justice" or "peace" but they go around using DIFFERENT methods to do so. They used the same formula but both did it well.

They're similar, but Deathnote, Light was more of the villain (or at least revealed to be later on by readers and good person at heart by the characters before the discovery), while Lelouch was always considered a hero by the readers, but was a villain in the characters' eyes post discovery It doesn't bother me because they both did it so well. Death Note is 1 on 1. Code Geass is who has the best control of army
