1. Minnesota Vikings
- Last Year Record: 11-5
- Key Acquisitions: G Alex Boone, S Michael Griffin, resigned RB Matt Asiata
- Key Losses: WR Mike Wallace
- Projected 16/17 record: 10-6
After a surprising division crown, The Vikings look for a trip back to the playoffs and their first playoff win since 2009. Led by the young Teddy Bridgewater and perennial MVP favorite Adrian Peterson, the Vikings have kept the same core that took them to an 11 win season last year. Will 10 wins be enough to win the ever impossible to predict NFC North? Read on and find out. 2. Green Bay Packers- Last Year Record: 10-6
- Key Acquisitions: Re-signed LB Nick Perry, Re-Signed RB James Starks, Re-signed PK Mason Crosby
- Key Losses: BJ Raji
- Projected 16/17 record: 9-7
Following a tumultuous up and down season in which Aaron Rogers looked to be off his prime form, GB still found itself in the wildcard round of the playoffs. They won there and pushed the Cardinals to OT before falling. Getting Jordy Nelson back should give Rogers someone to throw to, and hopefully rejuvenate a slumping Randall Cobb. Eddie Lacy seems to be getting back into shape, so this GB offense seems ready to get back to it's dominating self. 3. Detroit Lions- Last Year Record: 7-9
- Key Acquisition: WR Marvin Jones, WR Jeremy Kerley, Re-sign DT Haloti Ngata, Re-sign DT Tyrunn Walker
- Key Losses: WR Calvin Johnson, CB Rashean Mathis, RB Joique Bell
Projected 16/17 record: 8-8
Losing an ATG player is never easy to bounce back from, especially one who's play dominated an entire offensive system. Pick ups of Marvin Jones and Jeremy Kerley look to provide depth, but who could possibly replace the size and speed of Calvin Johnson. Getting All Pro linebacker DeAndre Levy back from injury should help bolster and defense that struggled against the run last year. Most interestingly, how will Matthew Stafford play without Calvin Johnson to throw to? At this point in his career, it's time to either prove his talent or waste away to mediocrity. 4. Chicago Bears- Last year record: 6-10
- Key Acquisitions: LB Danny Trevathan, RT Bobby Massi, TE Zack Miller, 4th round draft pick (via trade of Martellus Bennett)
- Key Losses: RB Matt Forte,
- Projected 16/17 record: 6-10
Like Calvin Johnson for the Lions, Matt Forte was a cornerstone of the Bears offense for his entire career. Jeremy Langford showed promise in 2015, but can he fill the shoes of Forte? Alshon Jeffery looks to come off a disappointing year that was shortened by injury and questionable quarterback play. Jay Cutler remains the starter in Chicago, but an incredibly up and down career has left much to be desired. With a team with so many questions, a winning record seems like a pipedream.

Packers will always find a way to win, Aaron Rodgers is the best qb in the league.
I cant trust Bridgewater yet to give the Vikings the edge over the Packers...
Also you should put key loss for the packers - BJ Raji.

I really don't think 8-8 is gonna happen. Lions got lucky by playing SHIT defenses the second half of the year. That boosted Stafford's standing, the offensive players stats, etc. Calvin retired, Caldwell is a dead man walking, couple losses on defense....still need to patch up the o-line a bit. It's just not happening IMO. I think 4-5 wins is doable probably depending on how well the rookies go.
Honestly if instead of signing some WRs they went out, grabbed Okung (just throwing out a name) and a couple more lineman who are at least average I think the team would have been better off. Draft a WR or two, an OL guy and some defensive dudes to plug some holes and just carry on. Instead blew their load on fucking Jones.

I completely agree tho, they had the money to make a bigger move on a DT or a couple guys to help with the oline.

Possible wins: a Minnesota game, Giants, Rams. Hey it COULD happen: Green Bay, another Chicago game, and the Saints That's optimistically 7 wins. I would be surprised if they did better given the worse offense, probably worse defense, and shit coaching.

Needless to say, figures a Lions fan would give the Bears the shaft on predicting records lol.
I believe the Bears have made the most significant additions out of any NFCN teams. And not even trying to be a homer like that. Granted we had the most to fill so it only makes sense. Not only did we add Danny T. but we also added Jerell Freeman from Indy to help shore up the inside of the second level of defense. It kind of allows us to go BPA in the draft.
Losing Forte hurts. Locker room leader might be the biggest loss if anything but I like the duo of Langford and Carey. And don't forget we're also adding an explosive option on offense in Kevin White. So basically we'll have two first rounders joining the roster next season. This team won 6 games last season while blowing multiple fourth quarter leads, especially at home. I believe Fox and Pace have done and will continue to improve this team. Getting rid of the bad apples shows that the FO is really looking to have this team play as a more cohesive unit and I'm all for it.
That's my 2¢. But nonetheless you had a great write up TSK.

Not worried about Cutler regressing without Gase there?

I did forget to hit on that part actually. That part does scare me alot. Gase did wonders for Cutler and his decision making. And his confidence. His stats weren't gawdly or high but his level of play definitely showed an improvement.
This will be yet another OC for Cutty and I'm not sure how he'll do with him. Last year was the first time without multiple INT games for Cutty since who knows until the finale against DET (another home loss).
I can only hope for the same type of play and decision making for Cutler next season. He's going to have an improved OL so he should have time to find his options. As long as our WRs stay healthy I do like our offense.

I think my biggest concern with free agency is the safety position. The Lions currently don't have a starting caliber safety to pair with Quinn since Isa Abdul Quddus and Ihegidbo left. They did add Rafael Bush and Tavon Wilson, but both of those guys should be depth additions, not starters. The Lions D is really going to need to rely on pressure form Ziggy and Taylor on the line to compensate for a secondary needing another piece.

I agree, but I don't hate the idea of Bush starting and Wilson getting lots of time. With that said I don't relish it, but the Lions secondary has been trash basically my entire life so I'm not gonna complain that much about a dead horse.

my Bears will make the playoffs this coming season and will get to the SuperBowl next season. wow what will they do with the #11 pick doe? i'd get a QB can't wait to see what White can do. he's ballin on my Madden team as for the other teams here, the Vikings are pretty scary. very solid offense and a already good defense with much upside
